Whats the difference between Taliban/Bin Laden and the Conservative christian republicans?

As a Christian. I can honestly say nothing. It seems both would be very happy if they could create their own Heaven on earth through whatever means possible. The Taliban/Al Queda through violent methods. Conservative Christians through legislation. But the end result would be the same.
