Is there any chance we could be friends again if i denied him when he asked me out?

I had a guy best friend, and I never ever got bored of him. I would tell him all my secrets, and he would tell me his, I trust him so much, and I enjoy talking to him but... Ever since he asked me out and told me he had loved me for over three years and I didn't feel the same way so I denied him( not in a improper way), THEN everything changed. At first I tried to talk to him at school, over "myspace", and so on but it seemed like he didn't want to talk to me. He and I were amazing friends, it's such a loss now that he literally ignores me. My question is... Is there any way we could be friends again :[ I already tried messaging him but he won't respond..
