We can see what appears to be the FRONT of our 7-month old's first two teeth THRU her gums. Is this normal?

I expected that the first thing we would see is the top of the teeth when they punctured her gums. In our case, nothing has punctured the skin on her gums but we literally can see (presumably the front of) what appears to be her lower, front two teeth - through a thin layer of skin.
