My X always said we were serious and it was not just a fling! He was even talking about buying a house?

I broke up with him because of his lies etc, he says how much I hurt him by the things I said. But I told him but you hurt me as well cause you cheated. But when I broke up with him he says Oh! well I couldn't committ 100%. I cant figure it out...... he couldn't com mitt, But he was talking about getting a house and saying we were serious and how it was not just a fling. And crying the blues how much I hurt him. Ok! I don't understand we were in a relationship and was serious and was buying a house, but yet he said he couldn't com mitt. He said he wasn't making enough money in va but needed to move that is why he couldn't com mitt. But talk of buying a house and asking me how my family felt about him. Help me figure this one out?
