Dreamweaver CS5- spacing issue?

I made rollover ons and i put them next to each other. Then I hit the space bar to space them away. On firefox it looks awesome, but on internet explorer, the invisible spaces have an underline. How do I get rid of this underline for those who want to view the website on firefox?
