Diet and Excercise Questionnnnn?
dude/girl: you are NOT eating enough calories and you are not getting enough protein. If you're doing 5 miles in x-country, and/or playing ball for an hour and a half each day, you have higher caloric requirements than the average sedentary American. You NEED more than the 1500-1800 calories per day that you're eating. You should probably be closer to 2500 calories, maybe even 3000 calories per day. If you are in high school (I'm uming you are), your metabolism is faster than the average adult's. Additionally, it sounds like you're extremely active. Worry less about counting calories/portion control, and worry more about eating a healthy, diverse diet. DEFINITELY add some red meat in there (for the iron and protein), and some chicken or other lean meat. Fruits and veggies are good, whole grains are good, legumes (peanuts, beans, etc.) are good. It sounds like you're health conscious, which is GREAT, but don't shortchange yourself on calories if you're young and active.
